salami brie asparagus roll up

Remember growing up eating those cream cheese salami rolls? I sure do! They were these addictive little bites of cream cheese filled goodness that I couldn’t resist. I have fond memories of snacking on them by the pool, taking a break from swimming to enjoy their savory and creamy deliciousness.

Of course, I had to wait for at least 10 minutes before jumping back into the water – safety first, right?

Well, my friends, those little salami bites just grew up. And when I say “grew up,” I mean they transformed into something even more sophisticated and mouthwatering.

Here’s What You’ll Need

This recipe doesn’t require any cooking or baking, making it a quick and easy option for hungry people looking for a delicious and hassle-free snack or appetizer.

  • Asparagus: Adds a fresh, crunchy element to the roll-ups.
  • Brie: Provides a creamy and rich flavor that pairs beautifully with the other ingredients.
  • Salami: Serves as the outer layer, providing a savory and slightly spicy taste to complement the brie and asparagus.

Roll On Up!

To make these grown-up salami roll-ups, start by laying out slices of salami. You want them to be about the same length as a stalk of asparagus. Asparagus adds a touch of freshness and a delightful crunch to these rolls, balancing out the richness of the brie. Speaking of brie, gently cut off a slice and place it next to the asparagus on each slice of salami.

Now, here comes the fun part. Fold the salami over the brie and the asparagus, and then continue rolling it up. As you roll, gently press the brie against the salami edge and the asparagus to seal the roll. This will help everything hold together beautifully.

Once you have rolled up all the salami slices, it’s time to chop them into bite-sized pieces. I usually go for about an inch in length, but feel free to adjust according to your preference. These little roll-ups are perfect for snacking or as a delightful addition to any sandwich. They add a burst of flavor and a hint of elegance to your meal.

Tips & Tricks

  • Choose fresh asparagus: Look for firm and vibrant green asparagus stalks. Avoid any that appear wilted or have a slimy texture.
  • Trim the asparagus: Trim off the tough or woody ends of the asparagus before rolling them. This ensures a tender and enjoyable bite.
  • Adjust the salami thickness: Depending on your preference, you can vary the thickness of the salami slices. Thicker slices will provide a more substantial bite, while thinner ones will allow the flavors of brie and asparagus to shine through.
  • Experiment with other cheeses: While brie complements the flavors well, feel free to experiment with other soft and melty cheeses like Camembert or goat cheese for a different twist.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce: If desired, you can pair the roll-ups with a flavorful dipping sauce such as honey mustard, aioli, or a balsamic glaze. It adds an extra layer of taste and enhances the overall experience.
  • Store properly: If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Consume them within a day or two for the best taste and texture.
peanut butter and banana bento box

Oh, and before I forget to mention, I recently had a moment where I thought I was all grown up.

I decided to make a peanut butter and banana bento box for myself. But you know what? Instead of just cutting it into regular shapes, I got a little playful and cut it into the shape of a puzzle.

Who says being an adult means you can’t have fun with your food? I’m 24 years old, and I’m proud to embrace my inner child from time to time.
