What’s Up, Hungry People!

The excitement is real. The premiere of Game of Thrones’ sixth season has got everyone at the Starving Chef’s home buzzing. In preparation, my kitchen has become a culinary map of Westeros. From King’s Landing to the Dreadfort, and even over to Pentos, we’ve made dishes that could fool you into thinking they’re straight from George R.R. Martin’s imagination.

Baratheon Boar Ribs

baratheon boar ribs

“Promise me, Ned, you’ll eat the bastard. Sansa’s Lemon Cakes

sansas lemon cake

Sansa’s favorite dessert has always been lemon cakes. She grew up dreaming of living in King’s Landing, where the cakes are a frequent delicacy. Usually seen served to the women in the gardens, these tangy treats are also popular at weddings, including Sansa’s.

Pentoshi Mushrooms with Garlic Orzo

pentoshi mushrooms

Time to leave Westeros for a bit and head to Pentos. Both Tyrion and the Targaryens have spent time here. This dish is a flavor-packed homage to Pentos, situated between the sea and the grassy flatlands.

Sandor Clegane’s Roasted Hen

You probably know him as the Hound, the terrifying yet oddly compassionate head of the King’s Guard. If you remember, he once killed a guy just to get his hands on some roasted chicken. This is that chicken.
